Dr. Emily Kerner
I am a licensed psychologist, located in downtown Montreal, who specializes in the integration of interpersonal and cognitive-behavioural therapies to treat client issues across the lifespan. I hold master's and doctoral degrees in Counselling Psychology from McGill University, and am a member of L'Ordre des Psychologues du Quebec. I have worked and trained in a variety of clinical settings, including university counselling center, high school, outpatient psychiatry, and residential treatment. I have published and presented numerous academic papers in the areas of adolescent development, psychotherapy process, and multicultural counselling, and am a peer-reviewer for several counselling/psychotherapy journals. In addition to my work in private practice, I am the staff psychologist at Chatsworth Pavilion, a residential substance abuse and addictions treatment center, and was formerly a faculty lecturer in the McGill University Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. I am a caring, compassionate therapist who is genuinely invested in the well-being of each and every one of my clients.
