Dr. Emily Kerner

I am a licensed psychologist, clinical supervisor, and consultant located in the Sud-Ouest borough of Montreal. I hold master's and doctoral degrees in Counselling Psychology from McGill University, and am a member of L'Ordre des Psychologues du Quebec. I have been practicing psychotherapy with adolescents and adults for over 11 years and specialize in working with clients who have experienced developmental and complex trauma (e.g., childhood sexual abuse, neglect, adult children of alcoholic parents), as well as addictive behaviors, adult ADHD, interpersonal difficulties, depression, anxiety, and workplace stress/burnout. I work from an integrative, trauma-informed approach that combines interpersonal psychotherapy with cognitive-behavioral and humanistic interventions. In addition to my work in private practice, I serves as a consultant to Disability Programs and Specialized Services at the Cree Health Board, where I provide guidance on complex cases, as well as build and facilitate trainings on trauma and neurodiversity. I am also the president and co-founder of Collectif Santé Réunion, Inc, a professional collective that provides mental health clinicians with services to optimize their well-being. I am a caring, compassionate clinician who shows up authentically, with professionalism and a little humor.
