Supervision is a crucial component of good self-care and best practice for mental health practitioners.

Are you looking for a psychologist with extensive experience and training in supervision? I meet all OPQ requirements for providing supervision hours that can be counted towards the requirements for continuing education.

Approach

As a supervisor, I shift between the roles of teacher, counsellor, and consultant in order to provide my "supervisees" with a comprehensive supervisory experience. My experience has taught me that this approach most effectively meets the needs of a broad range of supervisees. My theoretical expertise are in the areas of interpersonal/relational, cognitive-behavioral, and multicultural/feminist therapies. These approaches are key perspectives from which I offer insight and guidance to my supervisees. If you are seeking an opportunity to learn more about how to integrate these theoretical approaches into your own practice, we would be a great match.

what you can expect in supervision

  1. We will work together to identify your goals, clarify your case conceptualization, explore countertransference and use of self, make an action plan, and evaluate your progress.

  2. I will provide you with expert guidance and psycho-education regarding supervision, when appropriate.

  3. We will explore the supervisory relationship, its strengths and challenges, and how you can apply this insight to your relationships with your clients.

  4. We will hone your intuition and encourage its use as a professional guide; you will feel empowered to make sound clinical decisions that are in line with your values, beliefs, and theoretical approach.
